 Opening Hours
Opening hours: 10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
The ticket counter is closed an hour before the closing time.
The opening hours may be adjusted according to the season.
Closed days in 2008: Seven days a year (in June and in winter)
January 15 (Tue.), January 16 (Wed.), January 17 (Thr.), February 20 (Wed.), February 21, 2007 (Thr.), June 25 and June 26.

*During the specified days and the summer vacation(April 20 to May 2, May 6 to May 31, July 19 to August 12, August 17 to August 31, and October 1 to November 30): 9:30 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
*During Golden week holidays and Obon festival period (May 3 to May 5, and August 13 to August 16): 8:30 a.m. - 8:30 p.m.

Group rate
Group (15 persons or more) will be 10% discounted.
An admission fee of a person out of 50 persons is free.

An admission fee of the accompanying teacher is free.
* The above admission fees include consumption tax.
* By submitting the certification of physically-challenged, an admission fee is discounted at 50% from the regular rate.
* A school activity certification is required to get a school group discount.

Osaka KAIYU Ticket
Enjoy KAIYUKAN with an unlimited ride pass (Osaka KAIYU Ticket) on subway lines, new tramlines and city buses in Osaka city all day.
According to your riding place (e.g. Kyoto, Nara, or Kobe), the KAIYU Ticket price is varied. KAIYU Tickets are sold at the stations and transportation centers in Osaka and other cities, Hankyu line, Keihan line, Nankai line, Kita Osaka Kyuko line, Kintetsu line, Senboku Kosoku line, Shintetsu line, Nose Dentetsu line, etc.

 Wheelchair
All the routes in the aquarium are free of barriers.
Visitors who use wheelchairs take some explanations about the aquarium tour at the Aquarium Information Center on the second floor of the Entrance Building (located in the Event Square floor).
A visitor who needs a wheelchair can borrow it at the Information Center free of charge.
 Voice Guidance System
Voice Guidance System will guide you around the KAIYUKAN. With a special wireless earphone, enjoy listening to fun stories about living things and their lives in the KAIYUKAN.

Osaka Aquarium Guided Tour
Let’s enjoy seeing the Pacific Ocean tank from the top during the tour.
During the 75-min. tour you are guided in Japanese, via a wireless earphone, around the KAIYUKAN including its keepers’ areas on the eighth floor. Along with behind-the-scenes operations and basics in ecology, a Marine Mate explains how the living things live in the KAIYUKAN in each place and how staff members establish good relationships with them.

Eligible participants
Individual visitors aged 10 years old or above, or a small group (not more than 20 participants).

Tour fee: \500/person
* The aquarium admission fee is separately required. (Visitors can enter the aquarium again after completing their guided tour.)
* A tour may be suspended when the KAIYUKAN is over-crowded.
* Please check the starting time of the tour, when reserving.

Reservations
Please make your reservations at least two days before your requested date.

Special present
A KAIYUKAN souvenir pin is presented to each member of the tour.

 KAIYUKAN Museum Shop
A wide variety of KAIYUKAN original goods and other products with themes of nature and ocean are sold here. One section sells fossils of fishes and creatures that lived about 200 million years ago. Another section sells shells and minerals.

At the Service corner in the Aquarium, you can get several types of guidebooks and original goods only sold in the KAIYUKAN Aquarium.

Tempozan Marketplace
The floor filled with food, goods, fashions and amusements is just a seaside festive market. Naniwa Kuishinbo Yokocho is the first food theme park in Japan, where the original creators of typical Kansai cuisine open their restaurants.

Tempozan Giant Ferris Wheel
This is one of the largest Ferris wheels in the world. Enjoy its panoramic view of Osaka Bay, Ikoma Mountains to the east, Akashi Kaikyo Bridge to the west, Kansai International Airport to the south, and the Rokko Mountain Range to the north.

 Coin Locker
Coin lockers are installed at the Information and the KAIYUKAN entrance.
The service charge is from 200 yen for ordinary bags to 1,000 yen for large-sized suitcases or backpacks.
 Room for Baby and Mother
Baby beds to change diapers are installed in all the restrooms.
Nursing room for Baby and Mother is located on the second floor.
 First Aid
In the First Aids of KAIYUKAN, a nurse and staff members are ready to give their medical treatment.
 Credit Card
In KAIYUKAN, UC, JCB, VISA, MasterCard and other credit cards are available to use. Please note that the available card varies according to the restaurants or shops in Tempozan Harbor Village.
Any traveler's checks are not available in the Aquarium, restaurants and shops.
