As the night starts to approach around 5 pm, Kaiyukan begins to show a fantastic atmosphere of “Sea at night”, creating a different mood from daytime.
Take a look at sea otters and penguins sleeping in an adorable position.
Imagine how fish sleep at night.
Feel the charms of various forms of life, and enjoy the night at the aquarium full of romantic atmosphere.

LED Whale shark
A whale shark made of about 20,000 LED lighting welcomes you at the entrance of Kaiyukan.

Romantic silhouette
Romantic “sea at night” is created by lights and sound.

Sea otter
sleeps while floating on water surface. Sometimes they sleep with their hands held together.

California sea lions
sleep on land while lying close to each other. They never sleep in the water.

Harbor seal
sleeps while keeping a distance from each other not to be touched. Sometimes they sleep in the water.

King Penguin
sleeps with their neck folded, placing its beak under its flipper from its back, in order to maintain its body heat.

Pacific white-sided dolphin
If you place your ear against the glass (acrylic panel), you may get to hear the creaking sound that dolphins make.

Whale shark
swimming grandly in the “Pacific Ocean at night”.
They sleep while swimming more slowly than in the daytime.
